2011 Irish Branch Dinner
		I have pleasure in attaching your invitation to the Irish Branch’s CENTENARY DINNER and GOLF OUTING on Friday 30th September, 2011 As this is the Institute’s Centenary Year and the Dinner is being held in the prestigious DUBLIN CASTLE it is expected that demand for tickets will be very high this year. For your information I also attach leaflet which gives background information on Dublin Castle. Therefore can you please complete and return your forms to me as soon as possible. Please note that we have reserved a limited number of rooms at the D4Berkeley Hotel in Ballsbridge so recommend that you make your reservations with the hotel (quoting Chartered Shipbrokers) at your earliest convenience. Also attached are details of this year’s Golf Outing which is being held in Elm Park Golf Club. As you are aware the Irish Branch has been very successful over the last number of years in promoting education for our students. (This year we had 5 students who completed the Foundation Diploma, 5 students who completed the Advanced Diploma, 5 students who have now fully completed their Professional Qualifying Exams and are therefore eligible for Membership of the Institute.) The funds raised through our Golf Outing provide essential support to our Educational Programme so your support, either by entering a team, sponsoring a tee box or making a donation will be greatly appreciated. 2010 Irish Branch Dinner
		The Irish Branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers held their Annual Dinner and Golf Outing on Friday, 10th September, 2010. We started the day at Balmoral Golf Club - and this years victors were the team from Ballyrogan Holdings. The venue for this years Dinner, hosted by our Chairman, Mr. Chris Hawthorne, F.I.C.S. of M. F. Ewings, Belfast, was the majestic Belfast Harbour Commissioners. A wonderful venue, where our Guests were wined and dined in the finest style. Guest of Honour was Mr. Barry Stokes, Chairman of the Institute's Federation Council and our Guest Speaker was Mr. Sean Crummey, a Satyrist whose story telling had us all in stitches. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of Awards, by the Institute's Chairman, Mr. Karl Franz to this years top students. The Irish Maritime Development Office (IMDO) Award for the best Diploma Student was presented to Ms. Mary O'Reilly of P & I Shipping Services, Dublin. The Argosea Services Ltd. Award went to Ms. Harriet Foxton of Arklow Shipping for the Best Irish Branch Student 2010. A word of thanks here must go the Irish Maritime Development Office for continuing their educational funding support to the Institute - it is vital that we maintain the highest educational standards and their support in this matter is very much appreciated.
